My name is Karin. I am an architect and urban planner.
I believe architecture can be a doorway into a sense of wonder.
When architecture becomes accessible to children, it can open their eyes to the world around them. It encourages them to look more closely, ask questions, experiment with ideas, and imagine what could be.
When we nurture that curiosity from an early age, we give children the space to develop confidence, creativity, and a deeper connection to the places they inhabit. Their curiosity is instinctive, their imagination boundless. Children don’t need to be taught how to marvel — they simply need the right tools, encouragement, and the freedom to explore.
Through their hands, through play, through three-dimensional thinking and making, children discover that architecture is more than shapes, spaces, and structures. They learn how to turn an idea into something tangible — and, in the process, begin to discover their own voice, their imagination, and their unique way of seeing the world.
